Looking for a way to recognise a student’s initiative and endeavour?
Why not try the Aussie of the Month program – a primary school based program, coordinated by the Australia Day Committee (Victoria).
To receive an award students don’t have to win any races, or sit any exams. The award is designed to encourage children to be proud of themselves, their school and to understand the responsibilities and rewards of community participation.
Each month a child is chosen as the school’s Aussie of the Month and is presented with a badge and a certificate. Several thousand awards are presented to students each month at schools all around Australia. More than 300 Victorian primary schools are currently participating in the program.
Please note that this program is only open to Victorian schools.
Contact your state’s Australia Day group to see what school activities they can assist you with.
