Australia Day 2009 in Melbourne
With fantastic weather and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, Australia Day 2009 was a huge success! From family fun and games in the Alexandra and Kings Domain Gardens to the Flag Raising and People's March in Swanston Street, and the suite of events at Docklands, Australia's birthday was celebrated right across Melbourne.

Australian of the Year Awards
Congratulations to Victorian's own Pat LaManna, the Senior Australian of the Year 2009! Well done also to Victoria's other Australian of the Year finalists - African-Australian community leader Dr Berhan Ahmed (Australian of the Year), charity founder Leigh Mathews (Young Australian of the Year) and town hero Beverley Wall (Australia's Local Hero of the Year.
