Former Premier Ted Baillieu announced Ambassadors for the 2013 Australia Day celebrations.
The 147 Ambassadors came from a diverse range of fields including the arts, sport, community, entertainment and business sectors and took part activities held across the state to engage with local people to celebrate Australia’s great nation.
They include well-known Victorians such as football legend Tommy Hafey, radio and television personality Greg Evans, television weatherman Mike Larkan, performer Wendy Stapleton and editorialist and author Tonia Todman.
Australia Day Ambassadors are selected, by the Australia Day Committee (Victoria) and play a range of roles in bringing together the many community based celebrations which provide an opportunity for townships to come together and celebrate our national day. The Ambassador program is a national program sponsored by Woolworths.
