- The 2015 Australia Day Parade has concluded – keep an eye out for details of the 2016 Australia Day Parade -
One of Melbourne’s favourite Australia Day activities, the colourful Australia Day Parade sees thousands of people line Swanston Street to enjoy the entertainment, wave their flags and cheer on the participants. Victorians from all walks of life participate in this annual parade along Swanston Street, over Princess Bridge and into Kings Domain.
In 2015, Swanston Street was transformed into a wave of colour and movement in a proud display and celebration of our diverse multicultural communities. It included all the favourite traditional cultural and community groups as well as some new faces. In recognition of the Anzac Centenary, the 2015 Australia Day Parade also provided an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of our Anzacs through the participation of their descendants. The Parade also drew special focus to the men and women who serve us in our local communities across the state – our emergency services volunteers.
The Parade starts at 11.00am following the Australia Day Official Flag Raising Ceremony at the Melbourne Town Hall.
