Tour

  • Self-guided tours start at the Fountain Court entrance and run between 10.00am – 3.30pm
    (The queue will close at 3.00pm)

Ballroom

You can visit the ballroom without being part of the House tour. Please enter and exit via the ballroom steps.

  • Special Documentary Screening – Enjoy 5 min segments about the Role of the Governor, the History of Government House and the contemporary role it has in today’s society.
  • Scienceworks Display – Experiment with the latest science and technology gadgets
  • CSIRO 3D Printing Demonstrations
  • Fly Your Flag – Craft activity for kids to get creative and design their own flag to take home
  • Bricks4Kidz – LEGO play, technical LEGO and robotics activities

AROUND THE GARDENS

Enjoy live performances and roving entertainment throughout the day.

Western Lawn

  • Main Stage – Music and dance performances by the Greater Dandenong Band, the BAM Allstars, SHIAMAK Bollywood Dance Group and the Caulfield Drum Corps
  • Picnic Area – Enjoy your picnic with views of the city skyline and Government House
  • Ceremonial Trees – Discover which trees were planted by members of the royal family, and former Governors and their spouses
  • Roulettes Flyover at 12.30pm – Enjoy the best vantage point to see the Roulettes flyover

  • Skin and Cancer Clinic – Stay sun smart with complimentary sunscreen
  • St John Mobile CPR Lab – Learn CPR in 10 minutes

  • Living Legends – Pat former champion race horses Chief De Beers and Super Impressive in the historic Hopetoun Stables

Please note: The 21 Gun Salute will take place at noon at the Shrine of Remembrance
