Line 3,5,16,64,67 & 72 all lines servicing the St Kilda Road corridor from Southern termini will divert at Domain via Park St, Kingsway, Sturt St and terminate at a temporary stop in Southbank Blvd.
A shuttle service to operate in Swanston St between Stop 8, Melbourne Central and Stop 1, Melbourne University
Bourke Street services (9.30am to 12.30pm)
Line 86 Bundoora/Waterfront City will operate between Bundoora RMIT Terminus and Waterfront City Docklands Terminus via La Trobe St in both directions
Line 96 East Brunswick / St Kilda will operate between East Brunswick Terminus and St Kilda beach Terminus via La Trobe St in both directions
Shuttle service will operate in Bourke St in two portions (approx. 8min) – Stop 1 Spencer St & Bourke St to Stop 4 Queen St & Stop 7 Russell St and Stop 12, Melbourne Museum
A small part of the 605 service route from Gardenvale to Flagstaff Gardens will be disrupted from 5am to 6pm.
Buses will divert at Anderson St and continue along Alexandra Ave to City Rd. There will be no scheduled stops at Birdwood Ave or Southbank Blvd
Cycle paths will be impacted by these closures and cyclists are encouraged to find alternative routes.
ALTERATIONS TO TRANSPORT – DOCKLANDS
From 12.00 noon to 11.00pm Friday 26 January Harbour Esplanade Southbound between LaTrobe Street and Bourke Street will be closed to all traffic. Both directions will be closed from 4.00pm to 11.00pm.
Trams (4.00pm to 10.00pm)
Route 70 and 75 will terminate at Flinders Street West (Wurundjeri Way)
Route 86 will terminate at Waterfront City Docklands stop 11
Trams will not run down Harbour Esplanade during this time.
Additional services will be running after 9.00pm.
4.00pm Food trucks
6.00 pm Entertainment (face painting, roving entertainment and main stage with live music)
9.00 pm Fireworks (approx. 12 minutes from Etihad roof)

Other events will be taking place throughout the precinct, including Melbourne Star, District Docklands (formerly Harbour Town), Wonderland Fun Park, Library at the Dock, Newquay and Victoria Harbour Promenade.
STREET CLOSURES – HARBOUR ESPLANADE
3.00pm Thursday 25th January to 11.00pm Friday 26th January
• Harbour Esplanade will be a TOW AWAY ZONE. All attempts will be made to contact owners via Victoria Police before towing. Towed vehicles can be retrieved by calling Nationwide Towing and Transport by phone on 134 869 to check.
12.00noon to 11.00pm Friday 26th January
• Harbour Esplanade southbound (Etihad side) from LaTrobe Street to Bourke Street closed to all vehicles
4.00pm to 11.00pm Friday 26th January
• Harbour Esplanade between Latrobe Street and Bourke Street closed in full to all vehicles
8.00pm to 10.00pm
• LaTrobe Street from Harbour Esplanade to Spencer Street closed in full to all vehicles
• Docklands Drive will be closed to entering traffic from Footscray Road
• Entry from Dudley Street will still be open but limited to one lane
• There will be closures in place within the Docklands Precinct along Dockland Drive, Pearl River Road and Waterfront Way
• Little Docklands Drive will be closed to through traffic
Australia Day Victoria and our Docklands partners encourage patrons to travel via public transport. Details can be found on the Australia Day website or by visiting www.ptv.vic.gov.au.
Tram 70, and 75 will be shunting at Flinders Street and Footscray Rd and will NOT be running along Harbour Esplanade between 4.00pm and 10.00pm. Trams 35 and 86 running along Latrobe Street will remain undisrupted. Additional trams will run in the evening to assist with departure.
All taxi traffic will be directed to the existing Taxi Rank on Bourke Street between Harbour Esplanade and Batman Hill Drive adjacent to Etihad Stadium.
All Cyclists will be asked to dismount if travelling along the water side of Harbour Esplanade due to the large increase of foot traffic
and as part of the event’s safety plan. This will be advertised with flashing message boards and static traffic management on the day.
Etihad, District Docklands and various open air car parks will be operational. In the event of all carparks being full, emergency road closures will be put in place to keep traffic congestion to a minimum.
No boating exclusion zones will be in place and access to the water is unrestricted.
